3D Printing

Thursday 19th December 2013 at 4:33pm by Richard Davey

We received our first test 3D printed item in the post today. It's a simple nickel-placed steel keyring with the Two Superior Studios logo. This came out better than we had expected, and are looking forward to using this service more in the future.

The item was produced by Shapeways and deisgned using 123D Design, a free online CAD tool. These free-to-use cross platform tools combined with cheap low-quantity prototyping and production services make it easy to express your creative and entrepreneurial side without the high overheads. Many of the sucessful kinckstarter projects started with a good idea and a working prototype, often produced using a 3D printer.
