Presenting The New Dartmoor Zoo Website

After over 8 months of hard work and more than 1,000,000 lines of code we’re pleased to announce the launch of the new Dartmoor Zoo website!
We met with Dartmoor Zoo in early 2013 to discuss an exciting new project; to develop a bespoke website to promote and help raise the profile of the zoo online, to add functionality, aid the management of bookings, and to provide a bespoke e-commerce solution.
The new Dartmoor Zoo website boasts a custom Customer Relationship Management and Content Management System, which allows the staff team to customise many of the pages you will see on the website. Some examples of integration include an events system listing all the upcoming events and event bookings, a shop listing a whole host of products from branded pens to experience days, and an online ticket purchasing system which has been interlinked with the system used on the entry gates at the Zoo.
The website has been developed using the latest advances in web technology, such as Twitter Bootstrap; a framework released by the developer of the popular social networking website. The new website is 'responsive'. This means regardless of the device you’re viewing it on, you’ll be presented with a version of the website that best suits your device and can perform all the tasks that you would normally do, right on your tablet or mobile device without having to scroll and zoom to navigate the website.
The new website is available at www.dartmoorzoo.org.uk, and we hope you'll get as much enjoyment out of using it as we did developing it.
Dartmoor Zoo was relaunched in 2007 after a major refurbishment orchestrated by Benjamin Mee. Benjamin wrote a book about the trials and tribulations of relaunching the Zoo which was later developed into a Hollywood adaptation directed by Cameron Crowe, staring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.
